Goals

I was talking to a client earlier this week who needed the following reminder. And I thought maybe you could benefit from it, too.

You don’t have to go after your goals alone.

When you're a musician, raised in a world of competition, it's hard to imagine succeeding any other way!

But when we go at it alone, we have a tendency to constantly put important things on the back burner. It's easy to let "passion projects" or "dream scenarios" slip into the background when there's no one holding you accountable, isn't it?

It always was for me, too.

Until I found others to help hold me accountable to the tiny steps it would take to reach my bigger goals. The ones it's almost always easier to push off again and again in exchange for something more pressing.

Accountability is powerful. It’s the bridge between good intentions and real progress. And especially this time of year, when the fall season is in full swing and the calendar starts to overflow, accountability is what keeps us from falling back into old patterns of saying yes to everything and burning out.

Of completing another year, being frustrated with ourselves for saying yes to everything except what truly mattered.

So here’s my question for you: Who’s holding you accountable right now?

And if the answer is no one, I challenge you to set something up this week. Reach out to a friend, block time on your calendar, or sign up for a co-working session. You can learn more about my free community events, including accountability-boosting Power Hours, on my community page.

Whatever success looks like for you, don’t try to achieve it alone.

You need and deserve support on the path to your goals.
